WATER MANAGEMENT

Ensuring access to clean, safe, and sufficient water resources is crucial for both sustainable development and our business.

ICBP is committed to using water efficiently and taking responsibility for our impact on water resources, especially in areas facing water scarcity. We work to rehabilitate and conserve freshwater ecosystems in partnership with our stakeholders whenever possible. In the regions where we operate, we use the WWF International Water Risk Filter to assess water risks and map water scarcity.

At our operating units, we evaluate and manage our water use, cost, and intensity. All of our operating units have the necessary government permits that specify the source of water consumption and the quality of the water being discharged. Each unit is also subject to a Government assessment to determine if our operations have a significant impact on water withdrawals.

All of the wastewater from our operations is treated at a wastewater treatment plant before being discharged, and the quality of the wastewater at each operating unit is regularly tested by an independent, accredited laboratory.
